Care Net of Cadillac

Ministry Profile

The Pregnancy Resource Center of Cadillac, Inc opened its doors to clients facing unplanned pregnancy in September of 1997. In September 2002, The Pregnancy Resource Center joined a national pregnancy center organization called Care Net. Care Net supports over 1,000 pregnancy centers across the nation.

As the ministry grew and expanded, the board of directors saw a need for a name change to encompass the variety of services that are being offered. In February 2006, the board of directors voted to change the name of the organization to Care Net of Cadillac. The name change provides an umbrella to the separate services of the organization, each service having its own identity. Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC), Positive Choices in Education (PCIE), and Caring Hearts Abortion Recovery (CHAR) from here forward would be known as services of Care Net of Cadillac.

At the Pregnancy Resource Center, we serve individuals facing unplanned pregnancies as well as those desiring pregnancy. We have a parenting support program called Earn While You Learn. We welcome men, women and teens that desire pregnancy and parenting education and support.

Our Positive Choices in Education program has two aspects to it. We have on staff two abstinence educators, currently teaching our curriculum in 11 area schools. These educators are teaching positive life skills as well as the importance of wise choices in regards to high risk behaviors. We feel students need to be equipped with truth in order to choose the best for their lives.

The other aspect of our PCIE program is our STARs (Showing Teens Abstinence Rocks) drama team. This group of teens performs drama presentations relating to life issues that teens live with, in community settings and church youth groups.

Caring Hearts Abortion Recovery offers a 10-week Bible study specifically for women who have experienced abortion. Our abortion recovery service is facilitated by a part-time coordinator and volunteer facilitators.

Our staff currently consists of a full time Executive Director and five part time staff. We are able to provide services to many because of the over 100 volunteers that comprise most of our workforce. Each year we log well over 15,000 volunteer hours.

Care Net of Cadillac is overseen by a volunteer board of directors, currently nine members, from a variety of area churches. The board of directors brings a diverse background to Care Net of Cadillac, ranging from doctors, business men and women, homemakers, school officials, and accountants.

Our budget continues to grow as programs are developed, implemented and expanded. This is funded entirely by faithful individuals, churches, and businesses. The board and staff appreciate this sacrificial giving to our Lord’s work. We seek His guidance in using these resources wisely.
